Public information meeting
on new Ogden highway facility Feb. 5

A public information meeting will be held Wednesday, February 5 at 7 p.m. in the meeting room of the Ogden Community Center regarding a new highway facility. Information will be provided concerning the site of the structure, which will be to the south of the existing community center. In addition residents will have the opportunity to view a rendering of the building, as well as floor plans of the garage, maintenance area and office complex.

According to Supervisor Gay Lenhard, the existing highway garage was built in 1945, is an unsafe structure, extremely inefficient, and should have been replaced many years ago. She stated that the Ogden Town Board has been able to set aside funds for the last four years in a reserve account for this new facility. She indicated that although the full cost, which will probably be in the neighborhood of 3.8 million dollars, has not been able to be saved, at least half of the funding will be covered. The remaining balance will need to be bonded.

All interested residents are encouraged to come to the information meeting, view the plans and ask questions regarding this facility.
