Saturday 'Organic Fitness' exercise class offered

An Organic Fitness exercise class will be offered by Spencerport Continuing Education. Fifteen classes will be held on Saturdays from 10 to 11 a.m. beginning February 15. The fee for the class, which is code S052-5, is $20 for residents of the Spencerport School District, $23 for non-residents and $17 for resident senior citizens. The instructor will be Teresa Fiermonte.

Other Organic Fitness classes are offered on Monday and Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. (class code S052-3) or Monday and Wednesdays from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. (classes code S052-4). Those classes begin April 21. The fee for 17 sessions is $24 for residents, $27 for non-residents or $21 for resident seniors.

Fiermonte says that Organic Fitness uses bone movement, as opposed to the muscle movement in aerobics, Tai Chi Chuan and other programs. Because all muscles are attached to the skeleton, the skeleton itself determines the kind and extent of movement of which the body is capable. The class is tailored to fit each individual who attends, says Fiermonte.

Participants will be instructed on how to improve health and prolong their life span using different types of natural movements and how to lose weight by moving to the natural laws of the universe.

To register make a check payable to Spencerport Central School and mail it, with the class code, name, address and a daytime phone number to Spencerport Continuing Education, 71 Lyell Avenue, Spencerport, NY 14559.
