Students participate in All-State Conference

One Brockport High School Music Department student and two alternates were chosen to participate in the NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) Conference All State ensembles this year. Senior Tenor Mark Bader (center) was selected to perform in the Conference All State Vocal Jazz Ensemble. He also performed a solo in the December 3 concert at the Eastman Theatre. Senior Bob Balonek (right) was selected as a Vocal Jazz alternate and Junior Meagan Licata (left) was chosen as an alternate for the Mixed Chorus. Thousands of student musicians auditioned for this honor last spring at NYSSMA solo festivals throughout New York state. They spent three days of intensive rehearsals with other outstanding juniors and seniors from all over New York State. Rehearsals and performances of Conference All State were held during the annual NYSSMA Winter Conference in Rochester last month.
