Bright Raven Gymnastics Optional Level girls competed in the USA Gymnastics Sectional held at the Gymnastics Training Center in Penfield, January 26, winning numerous awards and qualifying for the State Championships to be held in the spring.

In the Level 7 13-14 age division, Julie Mingoea of Spencerport took first place all around (36.50), first place on balance beam (9.15) and second on vault (9.45). In the 15 and over division, Amanda Westcott of Brockport was first all around (36.075), first on the uneven parallel bars (8.65), first on beam (9.30), first on floor (9.25) and second on vault (8.85). Jaclyn Miller of West Henrietta placed third all around (33.05). Megan Seuffert of Gates took second all around (36.625) in the 11-12 division and finished first on bars (9.40), first on floor (9.25) and second on beam (9.375).

In the Level 8 13-14 age division, Christine Manthei of Chili won first place on the uneven bars (9.10), first on beam (9.05) and second place all around (35.075). Jenna Easton of Churchville was third all around (34.725). In the 15 and over division, Danielle Palumbo of North Chili took first on balance beam (9.10). Jackie VanDeWater of Churchville was first on vault (9.025) and Ashley Roberts of Albion was second on floor (9.05).

Shauna Gentile of Scottsville competed as a Level 9 gymnast and placed second in vault (8.85) and bars (8.90) and finished third all around (34.79) in the senior division.

In the Level 10 senior division, Randi Bisbano of Greece was first on bars (9.425), first on beam (9.55) and second on floor (9.35).

Bright Raven Gymnastics Boys teams also competed at the Gymnastics Training Center at a USAG meet held the week earlier, January 19. In the Class 7 competition for boys age 8-9, John Fitzgerald of Churchville took first place in vault (9.10) and high bar (9.40) and second place in pommel horse (9.10) and parallel bars (9.40). His all around score of 54.95 was good for second place.

In Class 6 competition for boys age 12 and up, Travis Gray of Scottsville took first in vault (8.90) and in Class 5, Kevin Kirkland of Greece placed second on vault (9.20) in the 12 and up division.
