ADAMS BASIN

•Sibley, Jr., Henry C., February 5, 2003, in Ithaca, NY, age 82. Mr. Sibley worked as an electrical engineer for General Signal in Rochester for more than 40 years. He held 50 patents for devices that make transportation safer and more efficient. He and his wife lived in Adams Basin for 47 years and were members of the Adams Basin United Methodist Church. Predeceased by his wife, Barbara J. Sibley (1994). Survived by two sons, Roger and his wife, Carole, of Interlaken, and granddaughters, Erin and Jennifer; and Henry and his wife, Sandra, of Claridon, Ohio and grandsons, Benjamin and Daniel.

BROCKPORT

•Clark, Mark S., Age 49 of Homosassa, Florida died on Saturday, February 1, 2003 in Crystal River, Florida. Born October 1, 1953 in Orleans County. He moved to Florida 23 years ago from Brockport. He was a retired Storekeeper for the Florida Powers Corp., Crystal River Nuclear Plant with 17 years service and a member of the Local Union I.B.E.W. #433, Tampa, Florida. Surviving are his wife of 22 years, Loni Clark of Homosassa, Florida; son, Raymond (Amanda) Clark of Homosassa, Florida and stepson, Michael (Jamie) Illes of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and daughter Sonia Clark of Orlando, Florida; his parents, Raymond and Lucille Clark of Clarendon; brother, Bradley Clark of Rochester; four grandchildren; and his canine companion Sadie.


•Day, Betty Jane, Saturday, February 8, 2003. She is predeceased by her family, Robert Day and is survived by her mother, Shirley McBride; her brothers and sisters, Dennis, Carol, Jim (Debbie) and Bobbie Day, Debbie (Mark) Laney, Lorie (Bob) Bryant and Pam McBride; several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass was held February 11 at the Church of the Nativity, Brockport. Spring interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends wishing can contribute to Unity Health Long Term Care at St. Mary's Hospital in her memory.


•Filppu, Vivian A., on February 8, 2003, age 79, in Pleasanton, California, where she resided for the past eight months. Previously a resident of Brockport for approximately 50 years. She is survived by sons, Lauri S. Filppu of Burke, Virginia and Lennart R. Filppu of Palo Alto, California; daughter, Ellen L. Whitfield of Diablo, California; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaugh-ter. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Kaarlo Filppu who died in 1986 and her son, Paul D. Filppu who died in 2001.

CHURCHVILLE

•Hinchey, Kurt R., Suddenly at age 38. Survived by his loving wife, Belinda, and his precious children, Jessica and Kory; parents, William and Gloria Hinchey Sr.; sister, Sharon (Tim) Hazzard. Predeceased by brother, William Hinchey Jr. Also survived by father-in-law, John Naugle; mother-in-law, Gail (Douglas) McArthur; nephews, Cody and Travis Hinchey and Daniel Cuffe; nieces, Kelly and Nicole Hazzard and Lily Mae Naugle; brothers-in-law, Brian (Brenda) Naugle, Chris (Gena) Naugle and Michael McArthur; grandparents; aunts; uncles; cousins and many special friends. Kurt was a graduate of Churchville-Chili High School and was a self-employed livestock auctioneer.

OGDEN

•Bijak, Ardale (Dorothy), Of West Palm Beach, Florida January 30, 2003, age 87. Predeceased by husband, Walter Bijak, (1997). Survived by brother, Donald Smith (Lorraine) of Stuart, Florida; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews. Ardale, a retiree of Rochester Mixing Equipment Company, and husband Walter were long time Town of Ogden residents.

•Schott, Arthur H., February 7, 2003 age 89. Formerly of Gates and Ogden. Survived by two sons, Richard (Gail) Schott of Naples, Lawrence (Kathleen) Schott of Canandaigua; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Clara D. Schott in 1998. Mr. Schott formerly owned and operated a dairy farm in Ogden and was also a cattle dealer. He formerly owned race horses (Trotters and Pacers) and raced all over New York state.

Funeral Services were private. Interment in Riverside Cemetery, Rochester. Memorial contributions can be made to the F.F. Thompson Foundation, 350 Parrish Street, Canandaigua, NY 14424 or the charity of one's choice.


SPENCERPORT

•Atkinson, Roberta S. (Bobbe), a former resident of Spencerport for 30 years, died January 17, 2003 at her home in Buffalo after a long illness, at age 67. She is survived by her daughter, Mollie Anne Atkinson Burk and a granddaughter, Zoe Burk. Her husband of 36 years, Ellis (Skip) Atkinson, a guidance counselor in the Spencerport schools, died in 1992. Two children, Michael and Sue Lynn, died in accidents in 1978 and 1984. Mrs. Atkinson was a freelance journalist, publishing in nu-merous journals, and worked for Upstate Environment.

A Memorial Service will be held in the spring in Spencerport, with burial in Fairfield Cemetery, date to be announced. Contributions can be made to Habitat for Humanity in her memory.


•Beatson, Millicent D., February 5, 2003. Predeceased by her husband, Harold Beatson. Survived by her children, David (Marianne), Dane Beatson and Jaye (Ralph) Harmon; grandchildren, Tamara, Jason, Sarah Whalley, Christopher (Tracy) Beatson, Heather (Ray) Hardaway, Jesse, Mallory Beatson; also survived by many other relatives and friends.

•Hancock, Harry, Saturday, February 8, 2003 at age 90. He is survived by his wife, Katherine (Kitty) Hancock; his sisters, May, Vera and Josie of Manchester, England; his son, David S. (Rita) Hancock of France; his grandson, Christien and granddaughters, Claudia and Camilla Hancock of France; niece, Mary (Alex) Reid; two great-nephews and one great-niece; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law.

Funeral Services were held February 11 at Walker Brothers Co. Funeral Home, Inc., Spencerport. Inter-ment at the convenience of the family.


•Kimmel, Donald D. Sr., Monday, February 3, 2003 at age 67 in Elkton, Florida. He is survived by his wife, Patricia (McCracken) Kimmel; two sons, Donald (Sandra) Kimmel Jr. of Alabama and Gregory (Cynthia) Kimmel of Gates; two daughters, Kimberly Kimmel and Joy (Rob) Kimmel-Santana, both of Spencerport; seven grandchildren, Shaina (Bill) Kimmel-Bushman, Candice and Donald Kimmel III, Kaitlyn and Aaron Kimmel, Amber and Joshua Santana; sister, Beverly Johnson; several nieces and nephews. He was a retiree of Delco Products, a member of Etolian Lodge #479 F.&A.M., an Army veteran of Korea and was a member of Ferris Goodridge American Legion Post #330.

•Riexinger, George H., Wednesday, February 5, 2003 at age 34. He was predeceased by his father, Robert H. Riexinger. He is survived by his wife, Tania S. Riexinger; his children Luke and Annabelle; his mother Geraldine Riexinger; brothers, Douglas (Margaret), Duane (Donna) and Darrin (Betsy); sisters Karen (Stephen) Shepanski and Lisa (John) Ryan; his paternal grandmother Ruth Carmer; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

•Thom, Betty C. (Chapman), Wednesday, February 5, 2003 at age 84. She was predeceased by her husband, Stuart (Tommy) Thom. She is survived by her daughters, Jean Thom, Connie Thom, Bonnie Graff, Goldie Rogers and son Harrison (Peg) Thom; 12 grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a special friend, John VanDorn. She was a retiree of the Monroe County Sheriff's Department.
