Health Expo 2003 offers info and testing

Health Expo 2003, scheduled for Sunday, March 2, 2 to 6 p.m. at 4617 Lake Road South, old HSBC building (second light from intersection of Routes 31 and 19), Brockport, is a free community service event sponsored by the Brockport Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Various health testings will be done - blood pressure, blood glucose levels, body-fat percentages, lung capacity, heart health, etc. ACM Labs will be doing cholesterol checks. Attendees will receive education on the many uses and value of water, exercise, sunshine, cardio-vascular fitness, stress management, counseling and an anti-stress chair massage. Health videos, literature and information on herbal remedies available.

Dr. Richard Williams, a noted local health educator and lecturer will be speaking at 4 p.m. on "Achieving Optimum Health" with a question and answer period following. Dr. Williams is a graduate of the UR, SUNY Brockport, UB and RIT. He has master's degrees in health science and service management and a doctorate degree in education.

Monroe County Cornell Co-operative Extension will provide information on the big fat in fast foods and healthy choices in the fast food lane. There will be healthy snack and food samples, door prizes and freebies.
