RPO offers evenings of music at SUNY Brockport

The State University of New York College at Brockport's School of Arts and Performance offers a series of entertaining and informative evenings with Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra musicians. During the past four years, the RPO and SUNY Brockport have enjoyed a mutually beneficial, professional relationship, and as active members of the SUNY Brockport Community, RPO members teach music appreciation courses at the college. These courses include technique and musical instrument lecture/demonstrations throughout the semester by several individual RPO musicians. These presentations are free and open to the public.

This spring, Nancia d'Alimonte is teaching the SUNY Brockport course, Music Appreciation with the RPO, with lecture/demonstrations Monday evenings, 7:45-9 p.m., in room 120 of the Tower Fine Arts Center, Holley Street. Reservations are not required for these free lecture/demonstrations. There will be time for a question and answer period at the conclusion of each presentation.

Each of the musicians participating in the lecture/demonstrations will demonstrate their instruments through various techniques and repertoire excerpts. They will share their experiences as professional musicians - their challenges, struggles, successes and accomplishments.
