Five school districts host college information night

A College Information Night on Thursday, March 20 for students in grades 8-11 and their families will help students prepare for the college admissions process. The program, to be held in the Brockport High School Auditorium, 40 Allen Street, from 7 to 9 p.m., is hosted by school counselors from the Brockport, Hilton, Holley, Kendall and Spencerport School Districts.

The evening will include a panel discussion and a question and answer period by admissions representatives from SUNY Brockport, Monroe Community College, St. John Fisher, Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Rochester, University of Buffalo and Roberts Wesleyan. Using sample transcripts from the five hosting high schools, college representatives will talk about what they look for when accepting students into their schools. They will talk about the current admissions trends and what students can do now to prepare for college.

After the question and answer period, students and parents can collect college materials and talk directly with the representatives. For information, contact Marcia Bartalo at 637-1873.
