Story Festival features children's book authors

Menagerie That! ... Mice that paint and count ... a Canada Geese quilt ... a black bear that hears a child crying .. and chickens that dance, decorate, sing opera and can read.

The 13th Annual Hilton Spring Story Festival will be held Thursday, March 20, at the Village Elementary School, 100 School Lane, Hilton, featuring three well-known children's book authors: Ellen Stoll Walsh, Natalie Kinsey-Warnock and Mary Jane Auch and Herm Auch. Festival goers will be delighted at the lively family night atmosphere which encourages parents and elementary-age children to spend an entertaining evening together. Admission is $1 per person with proceeds going to future author visits.

Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. with programs beginning at 5:45 p.m. Book sales, music and students reading aloud open the Festival with pizza, juice and cookies for sale. A panel discussion with three authors begins at 7 p.m. At 7:30 p.m. there are breakout sessions to further talk with a writer. Book signings continue through 8:15 p.m.
