Seventeen young pianists from the studio of Jennifer Sturman of Spencerport performed in the New York State Federation of Music Clubs Festival this year.

All students received superior honors and will be listed on the national honor roll. Students include: Emily Knox, Lindsay Knox, Julie Haring, Matthew Spezio, Phillip Spezio, Jessica Terrell, David Terrell, Kyle Bunker, Kimberly Bunker, Emily French, Lauren French, Megan Martin, Carley Youngman, Jodie Snook, and Phillip Pritchard.

Gold trophies for completing three years of Federation with superior ratings will be awarded this year to David Terrell. A second gold trophy will be awarded to Lindsay Knox for completing six years of Superior ratings at Federation. A third gold trophy will be awarded to Kimberly Bunker for completing nine years of Superior ratings at Federation.

Another award is being granted to two seniors this year for earning superior ratings in the Noteworthy Achievers Award. Stefanie Tornow and Megan Criticos will be receiving a trophy for their outstanding work at the piano festival this year.


Karen Schwind, daughter of Tony and Josie Schwind of Greece and a 1999 graduate of Hilton High School, was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at SUNY Geneseo. She is a senior majoring in communication.


Diane Sousa, daughter of Aileen Sousa of Virginia Manor Road and Dick Sousa, of Jordache Lane, has been named to the fall 2002 dean's list at Keuka College in Keuka Park. Sousa, a senior, is studying occupational therapy. She was a 1999 graduate of Spencerport High School.

A Keuka College student must have earned at least a 3.50 grade-point average for each block of at least 12 semester credit hours to be eligible for the dean's list.


Erin Kimmerly, daughter of Keith and Marianne Kimmerly, Peck Road, Hilton, has been named to the fall 2002 dean's honor list at Canisius College in Buffalo. Kimmerly is a digital media arts major and has a 3.8 grade point average for the semester.


Patrick E. Reynell, Village Walk Ciricle, Spencerport, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2002 semester at Temple University.

He received a 4.0 GPA for the semester.


Adrian Daniels, son of Gerry and Becky Daniels, of Shady Oaks Trail, Ogden, has been named to the fall 2002 university undergraduate dean's list at the University of Buffalo. Daniels is a communication major.

Daniels, who plays 2nd base and is a senior co-captain of UB's Division One baseball team, was also named to the list of scholar athletes.

To be eligible for the dean's list at U.B., a student must have at least a 3.6 GPA.


Genesee Community College announces the following students who have been named to the dean's list for the fall 2002 semester. Students who maintain a quality point index of 3.50 to 3.74 (roughly equivalent to a B+ average) are eligible for inclusion in the list.

Taylor University in Upland, Indiana has named Amanda Hastings, a senior, to the dean's list for the 2002 fall term. Amanda is the daughter of James and Mary Hastings. She is a graduate of Brockport High School.

Full-time students are named to the dean's list when they have earned a 3.6 or better grade point average for the term and when at least 12 hours carry credit point values.


Sheena Louise McMillian, Holley, has been named to the dean's list at SUNY Geneseo. She is a senior majoring in history with a secondary in social studies certification.


Army Pvt. Jason C. Tucker has enlisted in the U.S. Army. Tucker, an intelligence analyst, is the son of Ronald C. and Sherry L. Tucker, of Westside Drive, Rochester. He is a 1996 graduate of Churchville-Chili Senior High School.


Justin C. McMillan has been promoted to rank of sergeant in the U.S. Army. McMillan has 2 1/2 years of military service and is now in Uijonbu, South Korea, finishing a year tour. McMillan is a machinist with the 61st Maintenance Company. When he returns to the U.S. he will be stationed at Fort Drum, NY.

McMillan is the son of Robert and Barbara McMillan of Brown School House Road, Clarendon. He is the grandson of Cecil and Mary Lou Moore of Church Street, Clarendon.

Sergeant McMillan is a 1998 graduate of Holley High School and a 2000 graduate of Genesee Community College.
