Churchville-Chili students qualify for scholarships

Twenty-four Churchville-Chili high school seniors qualified as candidates for the 2003 Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship. This federally funded scholarship will be awarded to at least 410 seniors throughout New York state and one scholarship per county is allocated. Each scholarship grants $1,500 for the first year of college and is renewable for up to four years.

The 2003 scholarships will be awarded on the basis of combined SAT scores and grade point averages. Eligible candidates must have a minimum 95 percent GPA and a minimum SAT score of 1250.

The following seniors met these criteria: Stephen Adam, Jenny Baker, Elizabeth Dombrowksi, Kellie French, Matt George, Kim Golis, Megan Greer, Katie Hastings, Jordan Hicks, Scott Horsington, Kelly Jakubowski, Matt Kurzen, Jessica Maher, Jennifer Mallory, Phil Palermo, Amy Piatek, Jamie Ponicsan, Christopher Schwartz, Lauren Skirment, Jenna Stevens, Nicole Stitch, Karley Suk, Alyssa Williams and Shelly Wilson.
