Basketball player receives honors

Kristen Clark, a senior forward for SUNY Brockport, was named the State University of New York Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Year February 27. She received the honor for the second consecutive year at the annual SUNYAC awards dinner held at the Holiday Inn in Utica, New York.

Clark led the league in scoring with 363 points (22.7 ppg) and field goal percentage, shooting 60.3 percent from the field through the regular season. The senior forward also averaged 7.0 rebounds per game and shot 77.6 percent from the free throw line. Clark, a four-team SUNYAC Player for the Week and an ECAC Player of the Week award winner this season, led the Golden Eagles to a third seed in this year's SUNYAC Tournament.

Clark was also named SUNYAC Tournament Most Valuable Player as SUNY Brockport won the SUNYAC Women's Basketball Championship for the first time in history with a 64-67 victory over Cortland March 1 at the Utica Auditorium. She scored 21 points with eight rebounds.
