Football in the snow? - Kids of all ages took part in games and fun on March 2 at Hamlin's first Snow Day. A snowman building contest, horse and wagon rides, a sledding hill, hockey and a snowball shooting contest were a few of the winter activities held that day. Families could then go inside for a warm drink and snack to shake off the cold. Wegmans, Tops, the Sunflower Café and the New York State Office of Children and Family Services through the Rochester-Monroe County Youth Bureau contributed to the day's events.

Hamlin snow hill remains open

Due to the tremendous response to the snow hill built for the first annual Snow Day in Hamlin, it has been decided to leave the hill up until the end of the season.

The hill was built by the Hamlin Highway Department and is located in the back of the parking lot at the Town Hall.

Anyone is welcome to bring a sled and slide down the hill. The hill will not be supervised and sledding will be at your own risk. Regulations are posted. Direct questions to the Hamlin Recreation Department at 964-7222 or the town supervisor at 964-8981.
