Kids safety program offered

A safety program providing families with safety information as part of Spencerport Schools’ Kids and Company Together for Safety program will be presented at 7 p.m. on March 31. The program, which is supported by a grant the district received, is part of the district’s health curriculum.

Debra Ortiz from the Center for Missing and Exploited Children will offer information on how to keep kids safe at home and in social settings. Parents and guardians will leave with tips they can talk about with their children on issues such as: internet safety; the buddy system; No-Go-Tell; being home alone; and preventing runaways. This presentation updates parent on what used to be labeled as stranger danger, a term which is no longer used.

The presentation will take place at the Ogden Community Center’s Board Room, 269 Ogden Center Road.
