Scouts advance in rank

Chili Boy Scout Troop 53 held a Court of Honor February 24 to present merit badges and rank advancements. Mike Pehta achieved the rank of Life Scout. To earn Life, a scout must be active in the troop for six months and hold leadership for six months as Star rank.

Paul Wolski earned the World Conservation Award. The World Conservation Award is available by earning the Environmental Science, Citizenship in the World and either Soil and Water Conservation or Fish and Wildlife Management.

Merit Badge awards went to Matt Duell for Family Life, Mike Pehta for Environmental Science, Brian Goodykoontz for Personal Fitness and Erik Strassner for Rifle Shooting.
