MADD Tri-County DWI
planning victim memorial garden

Each year at Highland Park, MADD Tri-County Chapter plants a "garden" of wooden stakes with MADD red ribbons attached to them. Each stake bears the name of a DWI victim. The garden stands for five days and is visited by the Rochester media as well as many DWI victims and their families. The garden makes a visual statement about the extensive impact DWI crashes have, not only on the victims who were physically involved in the crash, but on all of those people who loved them and whose lives were forever changed by one person's voluntary decision to drink and drive.

This year MADD Tri-County will plant the garden once more. DWI victims, or those whose lives have been affected by a drunk driver, may request a stake. There is no charge.

Contact Tracey Holbrook at MADD Tri-County at 426-3130 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Submit requests by March 26. The times and dates for the dedication will be announced in the near future.
