Plans presented for North Chili intersection
at Routes 33 and 259 reconstruction

The New York State Department of Transportation will host a public meeting in North Chili to present plans to reconstruct the intersection of Route 33 (Buffalo Road) and Route 259 (Union Street) to the community.

The meeting will be held at the Pearce Memorial Church in the Parmerter Room, 4322 Buffalo Road on Thursday, April 24. An open forum will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. A formal presentation will be made at 7:30 p.m. Staff will be available to answer questions until 9 p.m. Members of the community and commuters will have the opportunity to learn the details of the project and speak one-on-one with project engineers.

On Route 33, the project will extend approximately to Attridge Road to the west and Orchard Street to the east. On Route 259, the project will extend approximately to Parkway Drive to the south and in the area of Berry Lane to the north.

The project proposes additional left turn lanes at the intersection of Routes 33 and 259. The intersection of Route 33 and Attridge Road would be improved to make eastbound right turns easier and a right turn lane at Attridge Road would be added. Sidewalks are included for improved pedestrian access with a new sidewalk to be constructed along the north side of Route 33 between Orchard Street and Miller Avenue with a connection at College Green Drive.

Interested individuals who cannot attend the meetings can contact Howard Ressel, Project Design Engineer, by writing to 1530 Jefferson Road, Rochester 14623, by calling 272-3372, or by sending an e-mail to hressel@dot.state.ny.us.
