C-C educator
wins honor

Marie Barron, Churchville-Chili Junior High library media specialist, was chosen as New York State's Lottery Educator of the Week for the week of March 31. A profile of Barron at work with students was featured as part of the 5 p.m. newscast on WOKR Channel 13 throughout the week of March 31.

Barron was honored to receive this award. "This award gave me the opportunity to highlight the collaborative efforts between the JHS teachers and myself to create multi-disciplinary research projects with the emphasis on enhancing student achievement," said Barron.

Michael Hall, special education teacher at Churchville-Chili Junior High School, nominated Barron. Hall noted how valuable Barron is to teachers and students, "It would be hard to teach kids without Marie's help. She is a wonderful resource," said Hall.

Barron will attend a luncheon awards presentation in June hosted by the New York State Lottery.
