Master Gardeners offer plants for sale

Locally grown plants will be offered for sale at the Monroe County Master Gardener Plant Sale tent during Lilac Festival Week 2003. Common and unusual annual, perennial, vegetable, and herb plants, shrubs and trees will be available for purchase. Container Gardens, fabulous wall and tabletop planters and a "Bargain Table" will be new features this year. In addition, Master Gardeners will staff the tent and be available to answer gardening questions and to assist in selecting plant materials.

Organizers expect to have an even greater selection of plants available than last year when more than 4,000 plants were sold.

The Master Gardener Plant Sale Tent is located on the front grounds of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County next to the Highland Park Lilac Festival Grounds on Highland Avenue near South Avenue. There will be a Grand Opening at noon on Friday, May 9, and the tent will remain open until 4 p.m. Sale hours will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Saturday, May 10 through Sunday, May 18. Proceeds go to help support the work of the Master Gardener Program of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County.
