C-C students sew
hats for shelter

Churchville-Chili Junior High School students in Nancy Amory's Home and Careers class stayed after school over a period of four weeks to sew fleece hats to give away. The material for the fleece hats came from extra fleece left over from their classroom sewing assignment. Amory asked students if they would be interested in sewing hats after school to donate to a local charity and the students decided to give their hats to the Battered Women and Children's shelter, sponsored by the United Way of Rochester. Here, John Lawniczak, Megan McWilliams, teacher Nancy Amory, Alicia DiNardo, Chrystal Prine, Alyssa Heydens, Allysa Piccaretto and Katherine Rosati prepare to donate the finished hats.
