Genealogy Sunday at the library

The second Genealogy Sunday program in the 2003 series is scheduled for May 18 at the Ogden Farmers' Library from noon to 4 p.m. The library will be open during that time for people who are doing genealogy and historical research. Members of the Western Monroe County Genealogical Society will be on hand, along with library staff, to assist people with their research.

Ann Schaetzke will present her program, "Gathering Memories," at 2 p.m. She will discuss methods of collecting and preserving oral history. Schaetzke will provide instruction on how to conduct a tape-recorded family oral history or genealogy interview. She will also give suggestions for various topics and how to obtain a quality interview. Preservation and transcription of the tapes are also covered.
