Auditions being held for children's choir

Auditions are being held for the choirs of the Amadeus Chorale. The Amadeus Chorale is a singing group of children and youth. The Chorale is not affiliated with a religion, school or university. Members of this group have sung on Peter Jennings' "World News Tonight" Fourth of July Special, for Secretary of State Colin Powell, and in Independence Hall, and are slated to sing in July at the Old North Church in Boston. Amadeus trains musicians through vocal art. The 150-voice organization holds a yearly benefit concert for the purpose of helping other children. Community experiences are the backbone of Amadeus performances. The Amadeus Chorale provides a safe, wholesome environment for talented singers to hone their art.

Artistic Director Darla Bair is holding auditions in the Rochester area for singers currently in second through eleventh grades. Weekly rehearsals include theory training as it relates to the song material. The choruses each rehearse once a week from September through May. Rehearsals are held in several communities throughout Monroe County. For information or an audition time, contact the office, 494-1795, or visit the website www.theamadeuschorale.org.
