The Holley Hawks closed to within a run in the fifth inning before Batavia Notre Dame scored ten runs in the seventh to pull away in a 16-5 victory in high school varsity baseball.

Trailing 2-0 in the third inning, the Hawks scored twice when Jesse Bopp stole third base on the front end of a double steal and scored when the catcher's throw sailed into left field. Matt Nelson then scored on a two-out single to center by Ryan Keys.

Notre Dame took a 5-2 lead into the fifth inning before Holley scored twice to close the gap to 5-4. Nelson led off the inning with a walk and took third on a single to left by Pat Brice. After a walk to Keys to load the bases, Nelson scored on a wild pitch. Another walk to Todd Wingrove again loaded the bases before Joe Soto knocked in Brice with a RBI groundout.

After the Irish scored ten runs in the seventh, the Hawks manufactured a run in the bottom of the inning when Pat Brice reached first on a strikeout-wild pitch, stole second and third and scored on an error when the catcher's throw again got away from the third baseman.
