Bright Raven gymnasts
compete in championships

Bright Raven gymnast Amanda Westcott of Brockport captured first place in floor exercise in the 15 and over age division at the Level 7 State Championships held in Albany April 26-27. Westcott was also awarded second place on balance beam with a score of 9.25 and third place all around totaling 35.975. In the same division, Jacky Miller of Henrietta placed seventh on the uneven parallel bars (8.60). Megan Seuffert of Gates competed in the 12 year old division and earned seventh place in floor exercise (9.375). Julie Mingoea of Spencerport was twelfth in floor exercise in the 13-14 age division (9.20).

At the Level 6 State Championships held in Buffalo May 3-4, Amber Kober of Ogden earned third place on the uneven parallel bars with a score of 9.40 and sixth all around totaling 35.90. Sabrina Hill of Hamlin was ninth on the uneven bars (9.15). Breanna Fischer of Gates took eighth place on floor (9.20). In the 10-11 age division, Rachel Eckert of Irondequoit finished eleventh on floor (9.15). Alyssa Kober of Ogden, Kara Golis of Churchville and Nicole Morone of Churchville also contributed to the team effort. Bright Raven's Level 6 Team finished in eighth place.

The weekend of May 4, Randi Bisbano of Greece traveled to Colorado Springs to compete in the Level 10 National Junior Olympic Championships. Bisbano finished ninth on balance beam with a 9.35. Level 10 is the highest level of USAG Junior Olympic competition. Bisbano is a senior at Greece Olympia and is planning to continue with gymnastics next year at Cornell University.
