The Catholic Daughters of the Americas - Court Nativity #931 honored the winners of their annual essay contest on May 8.

Placing first in Division I was Geoffrey Catlin, a fourth grader from Nativity of the Blessed Virgin in Brockport. Placing second was Nicole White, a fourth grader from Nativity.

David Johnson, a sixth grader, who is home-schooled, won first place in Division II and Amber Champlin, a sixth grader from Saint John the Evangelist School won second place. Placing third was Angelica VanWyngaarden, a sixth grader from Children's Home Workshop.

Winning first place in Division III was Greta Johnson, an eleventh grader, who is home schooled.

The winners read their essays at the event after which refreshments were served.
