bring big prizes

Some wonderful prizes can be yours for the "plucking" at this year's annual Duck Derby sponsored by Brockport Integrated Services and Community Organization (BISCO) and Lakeside Memorial Hospital. The annual Duck Derby will be held during the Brockport Summer Arts Festival on Sunday, August 10 at 3 p.m.

Ten prizes will be available to the first five and last five ducks to cross the finish line. Duck tickets are numbered and so are the ducks. At 3 p.m. thousands of ducks with numbers on their bottoms will be released into the canal. Those numbers correspond to a duck ticket. The first five and last five ducks to cross the finish line will win one of ten great prizes.

Bob and Debbie Ryan of Ryan's Big M were the lucky winners of the Queen for a Day prize last year. "Deb shared the Chase Pitkin gift card with me, and she enjoyed being pampered with a massage, a facial, salon services, lunch at The Apple Tree and other great things. It was a great prize, and we're looking forward to this year's race," stated Bob Ryan.

This year's prizes include - Queen and King for the Day including a variety of items - a family Disney trip for four; an above ground swimming pool; a Silver Table for 10 at Lakeside's Annual Gala Dinner; Design Your Own Vacation $700 travel certificate; Anaheim Mighty Ducks autographed hockey stick; Toronto Getaway to "The Producers;" Fall Foliage Weekend Getaway including meals at Country Inn & Suites in Mt. Morris; The Bon Ton $600 shopping spree.

Businesses which have donated prizes include: All Seasons Travel, TRS Pools, The Bon Ton, Six Flags Darien Lake, Hairtique Salon, Lynn's Floral Design, The Cutting Room, Red Osier Landmark Restaurant, Robinson's Mini Mart, Rochester Red Wings, Nugent Lawn & Tree Care, Monro Muffler/Brake and Rund's Catering and Restaurant.

BISCO and Lakeside partnered last year to raise over $28,000 with proceeds benefiting both organizations. Tickets are available by calling the Lakeside Foundation at 395-6049 or through Lions, Kiwanis or Rotary members. Tickets will also be available at the Duck Derby Booth at the Brockport Sidewalk Sale July 10, 11, and 12.
