Hart Hearing Centers has added Sally A. Bacon, audiologist, to their audiological group. Sally comes to Hart Hearing Centers with over 12 years of audiological testing and hearing aid dispensing experience in the Rochester area. Sally Bacon will be assisting clients at the Titus Avenue and Fairport offices of Hart Hearing Centers. She received her master of arts degree from the State University at Geneseo and resides in Brockport.


Molly Des Jardin graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh. She received a bachelor of arts in history with honors, a bachelor of science in computer science, and an Asian studies certificate with a concentration in Japan.

She was awarded the 2002-2003 Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award in Computer Science, as well as a teaching fellowship from the University of Pittsburgh Honors College. Des Jardin also completed a system administration internship at the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory in Pittsburgh.

Des Jardin studied Japanese last summer in an immersion program at Middlebury College in Vermont. She will be leaving in August for a year in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, where she will teach English in a Japanese high school. She is a 1999 graduate of Churchville Chili High School.


Naomi V. Dudek of North Chili has been named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Messiah College. Dudek is a sophomore Christian ministries major. She is a 2002 graduate of Churchville-Chili Senior High School.

Dean's list is earned by receiving a 3.6 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale.


Aaron M. Faro of North Chili has graduated from Messiah College. He was also named to the dean's list for the spring semester. Faro, who received a bachelor's degree in sport and exercise science, is a 1999 graduate of Churchville-Chili Senior High School.

Dean's list is earned by receiving a 3.6 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale.


The following students graduated from Binghamton University:

  • Michael M. Kosciol of Spencerport, graduated with a bachelor of arts degree.
  • Marie E. Lloyd of Spencerport, graduated with a bachelor of arts degree.

Gavin D. Roach has graduated from Messiah College. Roach graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in music. He is a 1999 graduate of Churchville-Chili High School.


Timothy J. E. Johnston of Spencerport has graduated from Messiah College. He was also named to the dean's list for the spring semester. Johnston, who received a bachelor's degree in marketing, is a 1999 graduate of Spencerport High School.

Dean's list is earned by receiving a 3.6 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale.


Robert Fenity, son of Lawrence and Mary Pat Fenity of Spencerport, is a recipient of the dean's award for academic excellence during the spring semester at Colgate University, where he is a member of the Class of 2006. A 2002 graduate of Spencerport High School, Fenity is concentrating in political science. He is also a member of the Colgate Crew Team and is active in student government.

To be eligible for the dean's award, a Colgate student must achieve a 3.30 or higher average while carrying a full course load of four courses per semester.


Kate Piedimonte, daughter of Dennis and Cindy Piedimonte of Holley, has been named to the spring dean's list at Le Moyne College in Syracuse. Kate, a member of the class of 2004, graduated from Holley High School. She is majoring in information systems.

To be named to the dean's list, a student must obtain a GPA of 3.5 or higher.


Daemen College announces the following students achieving dean's list status at Daemen College for the spring 2003 semester:

  • Katie O'Brien of Hubbell Road, Spencerport, is a child and special education major.
  • Benjamin Plucknette of Ballard Avenue, Spencerport, is a physical therapy-natural science major.

The following students have been named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

  • Stephen R. DeBellis of Rochester, a computer science, elect media, arts and communication major.
  • Chris Harisis of Rochester, a computer science, computer and systems engineering major.
  • Lee V. McOmber of Hilton, a computer and systems engineering, computer science major.
  • Cory P. McWilliams of Rochester, a computer science major.
  • Vi H. Nguyen of Rochester, a computer and systems engineering, computer science major.
  • Matthew D. Siciliano of Hamlin, a nuclear engineering major.
  • Edward W. Vossler of Rochester, a mechanical engineering major.
  • Daniel J. Yanklowski of Rochester, a biomedical engineering major.

The dean's list recognizes full-time students who maintain grade-point averages of a minimum of 3.0 out of a possible 4.0 and have no grades below "C."


Melissa Hudson of Spencerport was named to the dean's list for the spring 2003 semester at SUNY Brockport.


SUNY Fredonia Biology Department Chairperson Wayne Yunghans announced students selected to receive scholarships this fall. The awards range from $200 to $700 and were presented to students who met the criteria for academic excellence and career interest. The awards were made possible by gifts of endowment to the Fredonia College Foundation.

Kathleen L. Hastings of North Chili, an incoming freshman this fall at SUNY Fredonia who plans to major in environmental science, received the $500 Bruce and Nancy Garlapow Memorial Scholarship from the college. She is also the recipient of a $2,500 Foundation Freshman Award, which will be renewable each year she attends SUNY Fredonia.

She is a 2003 graduate of Churchville-Chili Senior High School.


Nicholas E. Earnhart of Hilton was named to the dean's list and semester honors for the 2003 spring semester at Purdue University. The dean's list recognizes a graduation index of at least 3.5 out of a possible 4.0. Semester honors recognizes a semester index of at least 3.5 out of a possible 4.0.

Earnhart also successfully completed the freshman engineering honors program and attained an honors designation on his transcript. This designation required a first year GPA of at least 3.4 while attending prescribed honors courses.

Earnhart, the son of Edgar and Marjory Earnhart, will be a sophomore studying mechanical engineering in the fall. He is a 2002 graduate of Hilton High School and currently employed as an engineering co-op intern at General Electric Company, Industrial Systems Division, Motors & Controls Group in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.


Erin Darby of Brockport was named to the SUNY Brockport dean's list for the spring 2003 semester with a 3.44 overall grade point average. Darby is pursuing majors in early childhood development and history.

Darby also earned dean's list status for the fall 2002, spring 2001 and fall 2001 semesters.

She is the daughter of Gerard and Janine Darby of Brockport.


Army PFC Jeffrey Crawford, son of Chip and Laurie Crawford of Hilton, graduated from basic military training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina July 2. He graduated in the top two percent of graduates in his cycle. He was also awarded the "Soldier Leader of the Cycle" for his company and received a General's Coin.


Army Pvt. Steven M. Peachey has graduated from the petroleum supply specialist advanced individual training course at Fort Lee, Petersburg, Virginia. Peachey is the son of Gail M. and Howard A. Bunn of Roosevelt Highway, Holley.
