Legislature approves Logel measure
to participate in sales tax free weeks

Monroe County Legislator Tracy Logel (R,C-Chili) hailed the County Legislature's passage of legislation which will allow Monroe County to join in New York state's two "sales-tax free weeks" for clothing and footwear under $110.

In its meeting on July 8, the Monroe County Legislature approved a measure sponsored by Legislator Tracy Logel to participate in the sales-tax free weeks offered by New York state. Under the legislation, consumers purchasing an article of clothing or pair of shoes under $110 will pay no state or local tax during the two designated weeks.

Removing the sales tax on clothing and shoes from August 26 through September 1 and from January 26 through February 1 will help parents buy school and winter clothing for their children," she said.
