Byron-Bergen hires two varsity coaches

The Byron-Bergen Central School District has hired new varsity coaches for the 2003-2004 school year.

William Fitzpatrick will be inheriting the Boys Soccer team that went to the State Class C finals last year. Fitzpatrick, a Brockport native, will be replacing Scott Faro. Fitzpatrick recently was an assistant coach at Brockport, Churchville-Chili and Spencerport. His collegiate playing days were spent at Lockhaven University and Genesee Community College. In high school, Fitzpatrick was an All-Greater Rochester selection. He earned his BA from Lockhaven and recently taught at Monroe II BOCES. Fitzpatrick will be providing academic support services at Byron-Bergen High School.

Scott Schleede, a sixth grade teacher at Byron-Bergen Middle School, will head up the Boys Basketball team this season. He attended Brockport High School and was a three-year varsity basketball starter. All-Greater Rochester honors culminated Schleede's high school career after two All-County selections. Continuing his basketball career at Roberts Wesleyan College, he was a two-year Academic All-American, All-League player scoring over 1,000 points.
