Traffic signs give up to the minute info on 390

Assemblyman Bill Reilich discuses with electrical consultant Richard DeCroce the installation of the Traffic Notification Sign which will be placed on Interstate 390 Southbound near Ridge Road in Greece. Reilich visited the job site before the scheduled installation on July 12. This sign will inform motorists of road conditions and up-to-the minute traffic reports and will also be useful in the event of an Amber alert. The traffic notification sign weighs several thousand pounds and utilizes relay and LED lights. This technology will allow information to be transmitted via phone and fiber optic lines within seconds making updated information available to motorists during their commute. A total of five traffic notification signs will be placed on the expressways leading into the downtown area. The immediate benefit of this system will be realized as construction on the Western Gateway project commences.
