Shetler reunion brings family together

Shetler descendants gathered at Brockport on July 12 where hosts Don Shetler and his sister, Lois McCracken, welcomed 58 family members. Joining the many cousins representing the Empire State were 14 from Pennsylvania, one from Utah, two from Ohio, and four from Michigan. Activities include pony rides and games for the children, and carriage rides for all. The family will meet next year, July 10 and 11, at a central Pennsylvania location yet to be determined. A Shetler family tree wall-hanging, featuring names of the first three generations of the German family in America, was designed, quilted and donated by (l-r): Carol Sones Shetler of Turbotville, and won by Mildred Sheatler of Watsontown, Pennsylvania. The wall-hanging aided in raising money to defray reunion expenses that was hosted by Lois McCracken and her brother, Don Shetler, of Brockport.
