Friends of the Hamlin Library plan book sale

The Friends of the Hamlin Library are once again hosting their largest book sale of the year with a completely new inventory of used books. All of the books from previous sales were donated to an inner city library and continuous donations from individuals and other area organizations have resulted in a sizable collection of 12,000 used books that the Friends are offering for sale. The summer used book sale will be held August 22-23 at St. John Lutheran Church, 1107 Lake Road West Fork in Hamlin. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.

Bargains can be had on both days. Get the pick of the selection on Friday with paperback books priced at 25¢ each and hardcover books at 50¢. Take advantage of the Saturday bag sale from noon to 5 p.m. by filling a bag full of books for $3.

All donated books are screened for placement within the library's holdings while duplicates and older books are designated for the book sale. Book sale titles include former bestsellers, popular series, and old favorites, as well as some unique finds for both adults and children. The proceeds from the group's fundraisers have supported programming such as this summer's reading program.

The Hamlin Public Library benefits from the effort of the Friends organization as they conduct various programs and fundraising throughout the year which help to enhance services above and beyond the annual operating budget. The Friends meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Hamlin Public Library, 422 Hamlin-Clarkson Townline Road (The Hamlin Plaza) and all are welcome.
