Top readers at Community Free Library announced

The Community Free Library has just completed the 2003 New York State Summer Reading Program. This year, a total of 91 children participated. They read a total of 1,195 books. Prizes were awarded in three categories.

The under five group included books that were read to participants. The top reader was Ruthie Seabolt who had 193 books read to her. She received the book/cassette Curious George Goes to School. In the 5-9 group, the top reader was Emily Kordovich who read 71 books. The Legend of the Teddy Bear was the prize for this category. The final group of readers were ages 10 and older. The winner in this category was Amanda Buzard who read 41 books. She received a gift certificate from The Lift Bridge Book Store in Brockport.

The top reader in all categories was Ruthie Seabolt. Her prize was a tote bag with this year's theme "Picture This - Imagine That." Each child who participated in the program received a certificate of completion. Next year's theme will be "New York, Read, White and Blue."
