•Ingham, Lillian B., August 15, 2003. She was predeceased by her husband, Homer W. and is survived by her son, William Sr. (Penny); three grandchildren, William Jr., Scott and Tammy; seven great grandchildren; one brother, J.D. (Daisy) Beam, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews and friends at the Cobb Stone Creek Estates.

A Funeral Service was held August 19 at Fowler Funeral Home, Inc., Brockport. Interment Falls Cemetery.


•Kent, Richard A., On Wednesday, August 13, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; sons, Timothy, Jason, Phillip J. and Phillip M.; five grandchildren; his brothers, James (Frances), Glen (Joyce); sister, Alberta (Bert); several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Corrine and his brother, John.

A Funeral Service was held August 16 at Fowler Funeral Home, Inc., Brockport. Donations can be made to Disabled Veterans of Monroe County or the Brockport Volunteer Ambulance Corps in his memory.


HAMLIN

•Ballard, Kathleen M., Saturday, August 16, 2003 at age 67. Predeceased by her parents, William F. and H. Elizabeth Habeck; sisters, Elizabeth Graef-Habeck and Billie Boekhout. She is survived by her husband, Ronald E. Ballard; daughters, Deborah (Richard) Goodwin and Lynn Marie Ballard; sisters, Judi (Bill) Steinruck and Susan (John) VanApeldorn; grandsons, Christopher and William Austin Pero; three great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Buttonwood Twig Volunteer Association, the Rochester Birding Association and a Past President of the Genesee West Audubon Society.

A Memorial Service was held August 19 at Walkers Brothers Co. Funeral Home Inc., Spencerport. Interment, St. John's Cemetery, Spencerport. Contributions can be sent to the American Cancer Society or the Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, 1700 Hawk Mountain Road, Kempton, PA 19579-9377 in her memory.


•Fitton, Matthew J., August 12, 2003, age 20. Adored child of Karen Leidig; brother to Daniel Fitton and Adam Leidig; son of Douglas Leidig and Jeffery Fitton; stepson of Snowdye Fitton; grandson of Everett and Eleanor Bauch; aunts and uncles, Kathleen (Spencer) Begemann, Lawrence (Mandy) Bauch, Norma Bauch, Jan (Jeff) Johnson, Sharon (Rich) Fiorito, James Leidig, Michael (Connie) Fitton, Elizabeth (James) Fish; cousins, Anthony Begemann, Lindsey and Jeffrey Johnson, Tim and Stacey Leidig, Meg and Ryan Leonard, David (Laura) Matela, Olivia Matela, Rick (Lisa) Fiorito, Chris Fiorio, Elaine Wooten, Marilyn Rowell, Neil Bauch; special friend, Bridget Domagala. He worked at Wegmans and was a communications major at SUNY Brockport.

A Memorial Service was held August 16 at St. John Lutheran Church. Interment, Lakeview Cemetery. Memorials can be given to The Daniel Fitton and Adam Leidig Education Fund or for a Memorial to be made in the future honor of Matthew's Basketball career at Brockport Middle School and High School, P. O. Box 745, Hilton, NY 14468.


•Smith, Valerie A., On August 17, 2003 at the age of 55. She is survived by her loving husband, Patrick; her son, Brian Hoag; grandson, Jonah; her mother, Helene Truelson; three brothers, Peter (Marisella), Rodney and Greg Truelson; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held August 21 at the Fowler Funeral Home, Inc., Brockport. Interment, Lake View Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Monroe Community Hospital in her memory.


HILTON

•Markel, Kathleen A., August 14, 2003, age 60 in Cape Coral, Florida, formerly of Hilton. She is survived by her husband, George E. Markel Jr.; her children, Michael and Paul Frustochi, Donna (Scott) Harper, Dale (Tonda), Russel, Michael and Theodore (Betsy) Markel; her mother, Alice Cairns; her brother, Robert (Olga) Cairns; mother-in-law, Thelma Markel; 11 grandchildren.

A Funeral Service was held August 19 at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc., Hilton. Interment Parma Union Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Mayo Clinic, 200 First Street S. W., Rochester, Minnesota 55905 in her memory.


•McCann, Frank B., age 88. He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia, 1991. He is survived by his children, Lynne (Robert) Spencer, Peter (Lynda) McCann and William (Linda) McCann; two grandchildren, Keith (Tonya) McCann and Sheri (Travis) Rogers. Frank was a graduate of Duke University, Civil Engineer and an Insurance Agent in Hilton. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, WWII and a member of Hiscock-Fishbaugh American Legion Post and a member of I.O.O.F.

A Private Graveside Service was held at Parma Union Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Hilton Volunteer Ambulance or Fire Department in his memory.


NORTH CHILI

•Ford, Judah M., August 13, 2003. Survived by his parents, Tim (Mary Ellen) Ford; grandparents, Alfred (Patricia) Ford of Greece, Delmar (Mary) Leach of Brockport; sisters and brothers, Timothy II, Katie Mae, April, Christina, Daniel, Bethany, Faith, Joel; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Service was held August 21 at Olds Path Bible Baptist Church, Holley.


•Rice, Wilma H., August 15, 2003. Wife of the late Dick H. Rice; mother of Michael Rice of Rochester, Mark (Terry) Rice of LeRoy, Beverly (William) McElheny of Rochester and Debra (William) Trometer of Asheville, North Carolina; sister of Raymond (Dorothy) Peet of Batavia, Myrtle Wright of Belmont and Audrey (Albert) Smith of Perry; sister of the late Viola Anderson, Beulah Fladie, Paul Peet, Wilson Peet and May Earl. Also sur-vived by a brother-in-law, Irving Fladie of Warsaw; five grandchildren, Tracy (Brian) Hannah, Brad Trometer, Janel Rice, Casandra Rice and Melissa Rice; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held August 18 at Burdett and Sanford Funeral Home, Oakfield, New York. Interment in Mt. Albion Cemetery, Albion. Memorials can be made to the Oakfield Ambulance Fund.


SPENCERPORT

•Gurnett, Mary E. "Skeeter," Peacefully on August 18, 2003 at age 84. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard R. Gurnett. She is survived by her children, Denis (Margy) Gurnett, Patricia Gurnett, Maureen (John) Czelusniak, Terrence (Mary) Gurnett and John (Cathy) Gurnett; her grandchildren Michael Gurnett and Tracy (Mike) Bzduch, Sandra and Mark Czelusniak, Katherine, Thomas and Molly Gurnett, Shaunna and Kyle Gurnett, Patrick King; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held August 20 at Walker Brothers Co. Funeral Home, Inc, Spencerport. Interment Fairfield Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Golisano Children's Hospital in her memory.
