Orleans County gears up for fall,
releases Business Directory

With the change of seasons comes the start of fall events in Orleans County.

Among the many offerings is the 5K Walk/run to benefit the Orleans County's Office for the Aging and will take place in historic Mt. Albion Cemetery. An Apple, Pumpkin Harvest Festival and Craft Show will be held at Brown's Berry Patch on October 11 and 12. National Wildlife Week will be celebrated at the Iroquois Wildlife Center from October 12-18.

Ridge Road Station will be hosting an open house gala on October 18 and the Cobblestone Museum Society will be having their Holiday Shoppe and tours on November 7-9.

Also new this year is the first edition of the Discover Orleans County, a comprehensive community guide and business index published by the Orleans County Chamber of Commerce. It hit newsstands recently and will be available for a limited time only.

The Discover Orleans County satisfies a need for a unified 'yellow pages' for Orleans County, David Kelly, executive director of the Orleans County Chamber of Commerce said. "It was our intention to launch the directory to chamber members and non-chamber members alike," he said.

The directory is available at the Medina Tops, from the Chamber of Commerce, through area bed and breakfasts, realtors and retail stores.

The guide contains a full-color community guide with articles and information on the region's history, healthcare, shopping, dining, community services, special events and more. A coupon section is also included.

The directory retails for $10. Call the Chamber of Commerce at 589-7727 for information.
