Hilton's DePrez honored

West Virginia women's soccer assistant coach Jenn DePrez has been selected as one of 500 winners of the second annual AFLAC National Assistant Coach of the Year award.

A panel of judges from "Scholastic Coach and Athletic Director" magazine selected the winners based on the following criteria: longevity, expertise, contributions to the school and community and special achievements throughout their careers. The 2003 honorees were chosen from a field of more than 350,000 coaches across the country.

A member of the women's soccer staff since the program's inception in 1996, DePrez has played an integral role in the development of West Virginia women's soccer. Throughout her tenure she has helped the Mountaineers to three NCAA tournament berths, two Big East championship appearances, a Big East regular season title and a consistent presence in the national Top 25.

"I am very shocked and honored to have received this award," DePrez said. "I feel it is a reflection not only of my hard work and dedication to WVU women's soccer, but more importantly to that of our entire staff."
