Michael Leiston, Spencerport, has been named to the dean's list for the summer quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology with a 4.0 GPA. Leiston is studying mechanical engineering. He is the son of Patricia Leiston and the late Lawrence Leiston and a 1999 graduate of Churchville-Chili High School.


Steve R. Crowe from Brockport and a student at Brockport High School has been selected for membership in The National Society of High School Scholars. The Society invites only those students who have superior academic achievement and are among the top scholars in the nation. The announcement was made by NSHSS Honorary Chair Claes Nobel, a senior member of the Nobel Prize Family.

The National Society of High School Scholars was founded to recognize outstanding academic performance among high school students. Membership is by invitation only and includes valuable benefits for members such as scholarships, networking, events, publications and other unique opportunities.


Dan Head, manager of Nothnagle Spencerport Office, has noted Mary Lobene's achievement of an outstanding six months of Real Estate sales. She has successfully been Top Seller and Producer of the Spencerport Office throughout most of the year.

Lobene has received numerous awards and recognitions and was named the number four agent in the company out of over 550 agents. This is Lobene's 20th year in Real Estate sales, as a Realtor Associate specilaizing in residential and new home sales. She resides in Ogden/Spencerport with her husband, Raymond Bilinski, and their sons, Beau and Jared.


Joshua A. Sauer has enlisted in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. Sauer is a communication-navigation systems journeyman assigned to the 914th Maintenance Squadron at Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Sauer of Reddick Lane, Rochester and a 2003 graduate of Churchville-Chili High School.


Navy Lt. Paul R. Burkhart, son of Linda J. Wood of North Chili, and Robert H. Burkhart of Nelliston, NY, is currently on a six-month deployment to the U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command area of responsibility, which includes the Caribbean Sea, Eastern Pacific and Southern Atlantic, while assigned to the destroyer USS Stump, homeported in Norfolk, Virginia.

Burkhart is a 1985 graduate of Churchville-Chili High School and joined the Navy in July 1985. He is a 1998 graduate of Norfolk State University, Norfolk, Virginia with a bachelor of science degree.
