Hilton HS Jazz Ensemble on Cable CH 12 September 24

The Hilton High School Jazz Ensemble's 18 upperclassmen are expected to be "an outstanding group this year" according to Instrumental Music Teacher and Jazz Ensemble Director, teacher Jared Streiff. "The experience of this group is phenomenal," Streiff said. "Juniors Nick Finzer, Tyler Gauldin and Rick Stiles played with the Eastman Youth Jazz Ensemble at Lincoln Center last spring and Nick also had the tremendous opportunity to have a master class with Grammy and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer and musician Wynton Marsalis this month when he came to town to play with the Garth Fagan Dance Company. In addition, junior Rick Stiles received a 100 score on the NYSSMA Jazz Solo." Cable CH 12 will feature the High School Jazz Ensemble on Wednesday, September 24 at 7 p.m. Among the selections they will play is "What is Hip?" by Tower of Power.
