Don Alhart to MC Lakeside's dinner with Rudy Giuliani

Don Alhart, associate news director and anchor of WOKR, Channel 13 News, will serve as Master of Ceremonies for Lakeside Foundation's 15th Annual Gala Dinner featuring Rudy Giuliani. This year's event will be held on Friday, December 5, at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center.

Don Alhart first participated as Lakeside's MC when he helped welcome President Gerald Ford. Since that time, he has enjoyed meeting many world leaders who have been Lakeside keynote speakers including former President George Bush, Generals Colin Powell and Norman Schwarzkopf, the Right Honorable John Major, former Prime Minister of Great Britain and Walter Cronkite. He also introduced and interviewed former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright last year.

"Don Alhart is also a wonderful poet and has entertained our audience each year with the reciting of a poem which he writes himself during the evening program. His participation has become a tradition at our gala event and he is enjoyed by guests and volunteers, as well as our guest speaker," stated Susan Fanara, chair of the Annual Dinner Planning Committee.

He has been an active member of the Rochester Rotary Club for the past 27 years, serving as president in 1987 and Governor for Rotary District 7120, which includes Brockport, for 2002-2003. He was also honored with the 60th Annual Rochester Rotary Award, the oldest major civic award in the community, which is presented each year to a citizen who has made a significant contribution to the business, professional, cultural or civic life of the community.
