Sweden passes garage sale law

In an attempt to put an end to "perpetual" garage sales, the Town of Sweden adopted a resolution for the regulation of garage sales. Trustee Patricia Connors said several residents came to the board and asked them to look into the garage sales that seemed to be constantly running. "We looked into it and came up with a local law that limits sales to no more than two per calendar year and the sales can be no longer than three days in duration," she explained.

Sign laws and regulations on the type of property were also included in the local law. The law takes effect immediately.
