Girl Scout Troop 929 assists Noone Post 954 in community service

Each year, Harvey C. Noone Post 954 decorates the graves of deceased veterans on Memorial Day with an American Flag and a geranium to honor their service to our nation. This year, 387 graves were decorated. These flags fly until fall when they are removed by Post members.

This year Girl Scout Troop 929 of Churchville volunteered to remove the flags as a community service project.

On Columbus Day, 13 girl scouts from Troop 929, under the direction of their leader Ardia Gutowski, worked in the Creekside and Riga cemeteries to respectfully remove the flags. Noone Post 954 members say they are extremely grateful to these girl scouts and their leader for a community service well done.
