Jennifer L. Buttery, the daughter of Janet and Jess Buttery of Saint Katherine Way in Brockport, and a sophomore at Hamilton College, has been selected to perform in the Hamilton College Orchestra.

The Hamilton College Orchestra was founded in 1970 and has grown to include more than 50 students. The orchestra has undertaken five concert tours within the last 10 years, including one to Romania and Bulgaria, and received an invitation to perform in Japan. The group has recently performed the works of Mendelssohn, Ives, Mozart and Stravinsky, and has commissioned new works by several composers. A work written for the orchestra by Masataka Matsuo was recorded for an Opus One CD in February 1996.

Buttery, a graduate of Brockport High School, plays the violin in the orchestra.


Andrew Meyers, a Hope College junior from Churchville, was a student leader for the college's fourth annual "Time to Serve" volunteer program on August 30. Hundreds of students, mostly freshmen, participated in the service projects throughout the Holland, Michigan area.

Meyers is the son of Gregg and Renee Meyers of Churchville. He is a 2001 graduate of Churchville-Chili Senior High School.

While attending Hope, Meyers has also participated in Chapel Choir and the Dance Marathon fundraiser.


Russell Sage College has awarded a number of high school students with the Student Sage Award for 2003. Included in the list of students is Vanessa R. Taylor of Spencerport High School.

The Student Sage Award is a recognition program to honor an outstanding woman in her junior year of high school with qualities of exemplary dedication to academic excellence, community service and intellectual debate. Recipients of the award will receive a Student Sage pin and a $6,000 annual and renewable scholarship toward tuition if the student enrolls at Russell Sage College.


Dustin Hindmarch, of Hamlin, graduated cum laude from Plattsburg State University of New York. He received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education pre-K-6; science 7-9.


Amy Kocher of Spencerport graduated from Plattsburg State University of New York. She received a bachelor of arts degree in English (writing).


Joan Greeno, Associate Broker of Nothnagle Realtor's Chili/Ogden Office, was presented with the Sales Agent of the Month Award from Bob Malone, Branch Manager. She had over $1 million in sales for the month of August 2003.

Greeno is a member of the Greater Rochester Association of Realtors (GRAR) and the Rochester-area Women's Council of Realtors (WCR). During her real estate career, she has received numerous other awards, including GRAR's Sales Master and Sales Master Gold awards, WCR's Pinnacle Award for outstanding commitment and service, and Nothnagle's coveted "Top 25" award. She also served as manager of the Chili-Ogden office during the mid-90s.

Greeno resides in North Chili with her husband, Larry, Vice President for Planned Giving at Roberts Wesleyan College. They have four grown children and seven grandchildren.


Kurt T. Kremmin of Hilton graduated from basic training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma on September 11. He is now finishing up his advanced Individual Training in Field Artillery, and will graduate on November 12 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where he will also be stationed after finishing his training.

Kremmin is the husband of Carrie (Lage) Kremmin, and the father of Hunter Daniel Kremmin, and the son of Thomas Kremmin of Canandaigua, and Pamela Kremmin of Spencerport.


Army Maj. James O. Lechner has arrived for duty at the Combat Maneuver Training Center in Hohenfels, Germany.

The major, an analyst, is the son of James T. and Sally Lechner of Chili Avenue, Rochester.
