USA National Team Coach Tammy Biggs from Texas works with gymnasts at Regional Clinic held at Bright Raven Gymnastics.

Bright Raven Gymnastics hosts regional clinics

Bright Raven Gymnastics was selected to be the site for two Regional Gymnastics Clinics held October 17-19. The event opened on Friday with "Working Together for Nationals" where only USA Gymnastics National qualifiers from the 2002-2003 season were invited. "The Rising Star Training Camp 2003" - an intensive two-day clinic open to any USAG competitor followed. 150 young gymnasts from throughout New York state and New England participated.

The featured clinician for the weekend was Tammy Biggs of Texas, a member of the USA National Team training staff. The coaching staff included former gold medal Olympian Maria Korbatova from the Soviet Union and former Bulgarian National Team members Marian and Julia Penev.

The camp events included tumbling, uneven parallel bars, balance beam, vaulting, dance, conditioning and tumble-track. "Working Together for Nationals" and "The Rising Star Training Camp 2003" was organized by USAG Region 6 as an opportunity for gymnasts to be exposed to top coaches while working side by side with gymnasts from other clubs. Both clinics serve as fundraisers for the Region 6 National Team.

Bright Raven Gymnastics is located at 12 Pixley Industrial Parkway in the Town of Gates.
