New initiative spotlights women
for membership in local Lions Clubs

Lions Clubs International President Tae-Sup Lee is spearheading a new initiative to reach out to potential women members. Included in this initiative is the creation of a Women's Membership Development and Participation Committee. Lions Clubs are devised into districts and each has its own district governor and area specific committees. District 20 E-1 Governor Jim Rice announced Lion Edie Pereira Hulbert has been named Women's Membership Development Committee Chair for District 20 E-1. The District encompasses the area communities of Albion, Batavia, Bergen, Brockport, Chili, Churchville, Clarendon, Gates, Greece, Hamlin, Hilton, Kendall and Spencerport.

The Women's Membership Development (WMD) committee will work to develop community projects involving women in the area and develop a team of Lions members who are directly involved in recruitment and district participation goals. The team will also provide encouragement and coaching to Lions who are directly involved in recruitment.
