Public meetings set on transportation plan

The Genesee Transportation Council (GTC), the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the nine-county Genesee-Finger Lakes Region, will be holding six Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) public meetings during the weeks of November 10 and 17.

GTC is kicking off a comprehensive update of the LRTP for the Genesee-Finger Lakes Region. The LRTP provides a 20-year perspective of existing and projected transportation system capabilities, needs, and objectives, as well strategies to meet these objectives for the nine-county Genesee-Finger Lakes Region. These public meetings are being held throughout the region to introduce the Long Range Transportation Plan and gather public input on the opportunities and issues facing the Genesee-Finger Lakes Region. Please see the attached schedule for dates, times, and locations of these meetings.

A second round of public meetings will be held in Spring 2004 to gather public input on possible transportation strategies to address the opportunities and issues identified during this initial round of public meetings. A third and final round of public meetings will be held in Fall 2004 to gather public input on the recommended transportation strategies that will ultimately comprise the LRTP.
