Three on ballot for two Murray council seats

Lloyd Christ, Jr. and Edwin Bower, both Republican incumbents, are challenged by Democrat Don MacIntyre for town council seats in Murray.

Christ is an eight year veteran of the board, an area farmer who also owns a gravel and excavating business.

Bower has served five years on the town board. He is an Eastman Kodak employee.

MacIntyre is also a Kodak employee and is a 20-year resident of the town. He said he is running for a chance in planning the town's future.

Murray officials have offered residents two referendums on building a new town hall facility; both were defeated. Providing public water for more town residents has also been a concern. All candidates agree that water line expansion is a priority.

Murray Supervisor Henry Lehning, a Republican, is unopposed for a fourth two-year term as are Republicans Gary Passarell for town justice, Nicholas Quaranto for assessor and Democrat Americo Gifaldi for assessor.
