Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES recognized
in statewide publications contest

BOCES 2 School Information Services staff received 11 awards on October 24 at the New York School Public Relations Association (NYSPRA) 24th Annual Communications Contest Awards Luncheon.

In the Excellence in Writing category: Communications Specialist Grace Griffee received an Award of Excellence for an article entitled "Meeting the Needs of All Learners." Communication Specialist Jackie Finn received Awards of Merit for the articles "Learning Goes Both Ways" and "Engaging Students in the Magic of Reading."

In the Community Newsletter category: Communication Specialists Finn, Griffee and Communications Group Manager Julia Hahn received an Award of Merit for the Spring 2003 e-newsletter Pathways.

In the Internal Newsletter category: Communications Specialists Debbie Moyer, Finn, Griffee and Graphic Artist Kathy Kelly received an Award of Excellence for the BOCES 2 Together newsletter for May 2003.

In the Special Purpose Publication category: Awards of Merit were awarded to Kelly and former Communication Specialist Mary Kay Glazer for the Spencerport School District Budget Poster; Communication Specialists Finn and Maggie Fitzgibbon for the Churchville-Chili Superintendent's Bookmark; and Griffee for the Holley Superintendent Search Brochure.

In the Photography category: Awards of Excellence were awarded to Griffee for her "Butterfly Girl" photograph; and Finn for her "Girls of Science" and "A Learning Moment" photographs.
