Community Chorus Winter Concert
set for December 6 and 7 in Spencerport

The Spencerport Community Chorus will present its annual Winter Concert on Saturday, December 6 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, December 7 at 3 p.m. Both concerts are held at the First Congregational Church (the Historic White Church) on Church Street in Spencerport. The concerts are free, with baskets available for donations. A reception will follow the Saturday evening concert.

This year's program includes "Welcome: A Seasonal Greeting," followed by John Rutter's "What Sweeter Music." The program also includes "Rise Up, Shepherd and Follow" with soloist Katie Oswald. Lee Kopf will sing "Silent Night" as it was originally performed, and the chorus will follow with a more contemporary version by Polay, with soloist G. Robert Dean. The concert wouldn't be complete without a rousing number, so the concert will end with "Santa Claus Is Just a Good Ol' Boy."

At the Sunday afternoon performance, the chorus will be joined by a group from the Amadeus Chorale. Following the Sunday concert, the chorus will perform at the Gazebo as part of Spencerport's Christmas on the Canal.

The chorus is dedicating this year's Winter and Spring concerts to the memory of chorus member Tina Besse who died in the spring.

The chorus is directed by Margaret Page Colucci and accompanied by Margaret Johnson. Rehearsals are held at the White Church on Sundays from 3 to 5:15 p.m. Anyone is welcome to sing.
