BOCES 2 WE-MO-CO students learning to restore the past

Students in Tim Burnett's auto body class at the BOCES 2 WE-MO-CO Career and Technical Education Center are restoring and painting a 1966 Dodge Grass Fire Truck for the Spencerport Volunteer Firemen's Association. The antique fire vehicle has been removed from the active fleet of fire fighting equipment and is maintained by the volunteers for parades and display. Second year student Joe Christie (left) has worked for over a year and a half on the antique fire truck sanding, priming, fixing dents and painting. Jeremy Surowy and (not pictured) Matt Ciliberto and Allen Jackson have also contributed many hours over the past year helping to restore the antique trunk. "My students are learning valuable auto body repair skills while providing a service to the community. They should be pleased with the quality of their work. I know the Spencerport Volunteer Firemen's Association will be pleased when they see the finished product," said Burnett.
