Free income tax preparation for senior citizens

A free Income Tax Preparation Service for low and moderate income seniors will be offered in the Chili Town Hall. This program is sponsored by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service. Trained volunteer counselors will assist clients with their New York state as well as federal 2003 tax returns.

This service is part of a 36 year old nation-wide AARP program. Last year, 32,000 volunteers served 1.8 million taxpayers including over 6,000 at 24 locations in Monroe County.

Starting Thursday, February 5, tax return preparation will be available on an appointment basis at Chili Town Hall. Interested seniors can call 889-3550. Bring all records of income and expense for 2003, and a copy of 2002 returns to the appointment.
